Grants from the Teammates for Kids Foundation
The Teammates for Kids Foundation accepts proposals for grants from nonprofit organizations that specialize in working with children. Grants from the Foundation support the on-going work of operating organizations that help needy children in the areas of health, education and inner-city services.

Who Qualifies
To qualify for a grant from the Teammates for Kids Foundation, an organization must:

  • Be a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization in good standing with the Internal Revenue Service
  • Have a record of outstanding service in effectively and efficiently delivering programs and services that improve the lives of needy children
  • Serve children's needs in the areas of Health, Education or providing Inner-city services
  • Deliver services which impact the lives of children, both short and long-term
  • Ensure that 100% of grant monies received from the Teammates for Kids Foundation are used for the exclusive benefit of children

Funding Priorities
Health
  • Grants that emphasize prevention and/or recovery from health problems
  • Grants that enhance the health of needy children by promoting healthy lifestyles
  • Grants that provide access to medicine and medical procedures for children who require special assistance and would otherwise be denied such assistance

Education

  • Grants that encourage educational achievement in areas of documented weakness
  • Grants that promote advanced learning opportunities to gifted children who would otherwise lack the resources necessary to pursue dreams and talents
  • Grants that expose children to learning opportunities they would otherwise not experience due to insufficient financial resources

Inner-city Services

  • Grants that provide health and educational programs targeted to low-income children in the inner-city
  • Grants that strengthen the capacity of operating nonprofit organizations to more effectively meet the needs of low-income children in the inner-city

 
The Teammates for Kids Foundation Generally Does Not Fund

  • Operating organizations in existence less than two years
  • Annual membership or affiliation campaigns, dinners or special events
  • Conferences, symposiums, or workshops
  • Debt retirement or operating deficits
  • Endowments or other reserve funds
  • Grants to individuals
  • Individual healthcare procedures
  • Medical, scientific or academic research
  • Organizations relying on government funding for more than 65% of annual operating revenue
  • Organizations that further political doctrine
  • Sponsorships
  • General Operating Costs


Repeat Gifts

The Teammates for Kids Foundation generally does not award consecutive year grants. If awarded a grant, the organization is not eligible for a grant the next calendar year. For example, if the organization were funded in the year 2007 it would not be eligible to receive an additional grant until 2009.
