To celebrate National Superhero Day, a group of superheroes from Love Your Melon invaded the Child Life Zone at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota at St. Paul. These superheroes came armed with hats, capes, bracelets, and masks, which they distributed to patients and families. Then they hung out in the Zone, playing games and doing art projects. The LYM Superheroes recruited many more caped friends while completing their mission.

Love Your Melon was started by two college students at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul in 2012, with the simple goal of putting a hat on the head of every child battling cancer. Their mission is to improve the lives of children battling cancer by recognizing the heroes among us including patients, families, and hospital staff that care for them. Through their Campus Crew Program, more than 11,000 students at 740 different colleges and universities have visited hospitals across the country, spreading courage and hope.

"Child Life Zones are places where imaginations flourish. We are so appreciative of the Love Your Melon organization for providing our patients and families with the opportunity to 'fly!'"
